Chlamydia and gonorrhea test

The test for chlamydia and gonorrhea is quick, painless and gives you peace of mind: a simple swab test will tell you whether you have an infection after just a few days - discreetly and reliably.

What are chlamydia and gonorrhea?

Chlamydia and gonococcus are bacterial infections that can be transmitted through sexual contact - e.g:

  • Petting and oral sex
  • Penetrative sex
  • Shared use of sex toys
  • In rare cases even when kissing

Both infections can be treated well with antibiotics if they are detected early.

How does the test work?

  • This is a smear test in which small samples of mucous membrane are taken.
  • The procedure is painless.
  • Depending on sexual practices and body characteristics, swabs are taken at different points:
  • Throat
  • Urethra (in people with a penis)
  • Vaginal mucosa (in people with a vulva)
  • Anus
  • The samples are preserved in special tubes and sent to the Dr. Risch laboratory for analysis.

What happens if the result is positive?

  • If chlamydia or gonococci are found, you will receive a text message asking you to go to a specialist medical center and start antibiotic treatment.
  • It is also important that sex partners are informed so that they too can be tested and treated.

When will I receive the result?

The result is usually available 2 to 5 days after the smear test.
