Is a rapid HIV test sufficiently safe?
The rapid test is safe and meets quality standards. If the HIV rapid test has a defect, the test will indicate this immediately when you use it. In this case, you will be offered a new HIV rapid test.
The HIV rapid test reacts to antibodies and antigens in the blood. If the HIV rapid test does not show a reactive result, no antibodies and antigens related to HIV have been found in the blood. You then know that you do not have an HIV infection.
